Stratford Cullitons vs Cambridge Winterhawks Tonight

The Stratford Cullitons are back in action tonight at the William Allman Arena.

They host the Cambridge Winterhawks in Friday Night Hockey.

The puck hits the ice at 7:30pm.

1240 CJCS hits the airwaves at 7:25pm with the pregame show followed by the matchup.

Elsewhere tonight, the St Marys Lincolns look to stone Strathroy in the Stone Town and Brampton pays a visit to Listowel.

Both of those games also begin at 7:30pm.

John Kastner Leaves Beacon Herald Today

John Kastner's final day at the Stratford Beacon Herald is today.

The Managing Editor will bid farewell to his coworkers at the end of the work day.

Kastner has been with the local newspaper for 33 years and is a lifelong citizen of the Stratford area.

His departure is part of the 500 job cuts Quebecor imposed at its news outlets across the country this month.

Kastner says he's looking forward to new challenges.

Hockey Game in Milverton Tomorrow for Persons with Disabilities Day

The County of Perth joins numerous organizations and communities across the world to celebrate International Day for Persons with Disabilities on December 1st.

The undefeated Canadian Amputee Hockey Club, winners of six consecutive International Standing Hockey Federation World Championships, will be challenging the Monkton Lady Wildcats to an exciting, fast-paced game of hockey in Milverton.

There will be a free skate from 7:00pm to 7:30 pm, followed by the game.

Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson and NHL Linesman Steve Miller will be officiating.

Eddie Matthews Awarded Diamond Jubilee Medal

Long time CJCS morning man Eddie Matthews will receive the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal next month.

The medal will be presented to Matthews by Perth-Wellington MP Gary Schellenberger.

The award recognizes the service of Canadians who have made significant contributions to their communities.

It was created to honour Queen Elizabeth's 60 year reign on the throne.

The award ceremony will take place in Stratford on Tuesday, December 18th.
