Smile Cookies Raise over $14,000

The Stratford General Hospital is that much closer to a new MRI machine.

Over $14,000 was raised this summer through the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign.  The money puts the MRI Campaign to 89% of its $3.8 million goal.

Customers of the four Stratford Tim Hortons have contributed more than $47,000 through the Smile Cookie Campaign to the Stratford General Hospital over the past four years.

L'Arche Hosting Alzheimer's Coffee Break

L'Arche Stratford has a Halloween treat for everyone tomorrow.

L'Arche members and volunteers are hosting a coffee break fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of Perth County from 12:30-2:30. The event is at the Ark, L'Arche's community centre, located at 400 Huron St.

Besides coffee, they'll be serving colourful Halloween cookies and other treats baked by L'Arche members, staff and volunteers earlier in the day.

People are invited to have a coffee and a treat and to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society.

Huron County OPP To Honour Fallen Officers

Halloween Safety Tips

Police want to remind families of a few steps to take to ensure a safe and happy Halloween for all.

Motorists are reminded to drive slowly and watch for children walking on roadways and darting out between parked cars as they may be difficult to see in dark clothing.

Parents, ensure children under 12 have an older supervisor accompanying them on their rounds.

Give your kids a flashlight if they are out after dark, and pin a name and address card on the younger ones in case they get separated from their group.

Lloyd Robertson Coming to Stratford in November

Lloyd Robertson will come back to his roots next month to discuss his new book.

The Stratford-born broadcasting icon will be at the Stratford Public Library auditorium on Sunday, November 18th to discuss his new autobiography "The Kind of Life It's Been".

He'll read from the book, answer questions and be available for signings.

Robertson started his broadcasting career in radio at 1240 CJCS back in the 1950s.

The event will run from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

It's free and open to the public.
