CJCS 1240 Radio - Local and Community Events in Stratford Ontario

Over the weekend a team from Promar Karate in Listowel attended two tournaments. The first was on Saturday at the Generation Martial Arts Championships 2012 in Kitchener, where Sensei Becky Schweitzer from Newton placed 3rd in 18+ Women's Traditional Black Belt Weapons & 4th in 18+ Women's Black Belt Kata. Shihan Mark Yates from Listowel won 1st in 18+ Men's Traditional Black Belt Weapons, 2nd in 18+ Open Black Belt Weapons, 3rd in 18+ Men's Black Belt Kata and 4th in 35+ Men's Black Belt Kata. The second tournament was on Sunday at the Crispin Super Shiai in Georgetown. Sensei Becky Schweitzer took 1st in 18+ Women's Black Belt Weapons and in 18+ Korean Black Belt Kata. Shihan Mark Yates placed 1st in 50+ Men's Black Belt Weapons, 3rd in 50+ Men's Black Belt Kata and won the Grand Championship for 18+ Men's Black Belt Weapons.
