Police Keeping Busy During Road Safety Week

E-mail Print PDF

The Perth County OPP keeps nabbing dangerous drivers.

Police in our area have ramped up enforcement of the traffic laws for Canada Road Safety Week.

Last night in St. Marys police pulled a driver over for talking on a cell phone, only to discover the driver didn't have a license.

Further checks showed the vehicle was also uninsured, and that the driver is not supposed to be operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.

At around 10:30pm last night an OPP officer pulled over a Honda Civic going 140 km/h on Highway 7 near Wildwood Park.

The 19-year-old driver had his license seized and his vehicle towed.

Remember police all over the province will be out in force this weekend keeping an eye out for impaired driving, aggressive driving, distracted driving and seat belt violations, which are the "Big Four" causes of death and injuries on our roadways.
