Ontario PC Party Wants to Rein In Public Sector Arbitration

The PC Party of Ontario thinks that public sector wages need to be reined in.

AndĀ itĀ believe arbitrators must shoulder a big chunk of the blame.

In a press release today, the party cited the large pay increases won by Stratford Firefighters in a recent arbitration ruling as an example.

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece explains.

The Ontario PC arbitration reform plan would require arbitrators to provide an explanation justifying their decision in any future dispute.

The fundamental goal is to bring public sector paycheques in line with private sector standards.
