A Perth East man is dead after a serious crash.
OPP were called the collision on Perth Line 32 east of Perth Road 130 early Thursday evening.
A Jeep was travelling east bound when it began to drift across the centre line. The driver of a west bound car had to make an evasive manoeuvre to avoid a head-on-collision. The vehicles sideswiped each other causing the car to spin around and enter the north ditch backwards narrowly missing a utility pole. The Jeep continued its slow veer across the west bound lane, crossing the north shoulder, travelling through the north ditch, coming to a stop in a corn field.
The lone male driver of the Jeep received immediate first aid by other motorists and a passing St. Johns Ambulance attendant. Perth County Ambulance transported the male to Stratford General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The male has been identified as 40 year-old Steven Bohms of the Township of Perth East.
The 65 year-old female driver of the Impala and two other 66 year-old female passengers were uninjured. The fourth occupant of the car, a 75 year-old female passenger did sustain minor injuries. All four occupants of the Impala are Stratford residents.
Perth Line 32 remained closed until 10:30pm to allow the OPP Western Region Traffic Collision Investigation Unit to complete its investigation into the collision.
