It's one more day in a stretch of extreme heat, and one more day of looking for ways to cool off.

Perth County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Miriam Klassen explains why grabbing a beer can do more harm than good:

Symptoms of heat exhaustion include profuse sweating, weakness, nausea, vomiting, headache, lightheadedness, and muscle cramps.

Places to cool off:

PERTH COUNTY:

North Perth Council Chambers, 330 Wallace Avenue North, Listowel from 8:30am-4:30pm

Elma Memorial Community Centre, 251 Main Street, Atwood from 8:30am-4:30pm

Perth East Recreation Complex, 40 Temperance Street, Milverton from 8:00am-4:30pm

STRATFORD:

Kiwanis Community Centre - 8:30am-9pm - games room

Stratford Public Library - 10am-9pm - magazines, newspapers, free public internet, wireless hotspot

Stratford Lions Pool - 6-8pm - open swim

The heat will break overnight when the area reaches a comfortable low of 14 degrees. The high for Friday is a manageable 25 degrees.
