About 50 local residents gathered last night in St. Marys to discuss the future of rural health care.
The panel discussion at the Pyramid Centre was organized by the Ontario Health Coalition in response to proposed cuts and privatization in the most recent provincial budget.
Mehra told the crowd that the Ontario budget could result in up to three billion dollars in cuts and moves towards increased privatization which will impact rural health care delivery hardest.
The Ontario Health Coalition is a watchdog group founded to ensure the Canada Health Act is being enforced.
