Fire Ban Continues in Perth County

E-mail Print PDF

We've finally got relief from the heat, but have yet to get a good soaker.

There is a 30% chance of showers Monday afternoon, but no sight of rain in the rest of this week's forecast.

So, the open fire ban continues in Perth County.

That ban includes any fire outside of a building such as bonfires, campfires, burn barrels, outdoor fireplaces/chimineas.

The only exceptions to the ban are cooking fires within approved campgrounds, and only from noon until midnight.

If you discover a fire in the open, it is very important that you report fires immediately to 9-1-1.  Do not delay reporting while attempting to control or extinguish the fire.

Futhermore, all burning permits in Perth County are now suspended.  No burning permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.

The ban remains in effect until further notice.
