Tavi Residents Still in the Dark After Storm

Power is still out for residents in Tavistock affected by Thursday's storm.

The early morning thunderstorm knocked out hydro in the areas east of the main intersection, along Woodstock Street North, Hope Street East, and the Bender Subdivision.

The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock says that Erie Thames Power is working on getting a mini-transformer for emergency use over the weekend.

If all goes as planned and the weather cooperates, hydro should be flowing by 5 or 6 today (Friday) for Tavistock residents.

Until then, the township asks that residents keep fridges and freezer doors closed as much as possible.
