Police used a spike belt to stop a stolen car near St. Marys Wednesday evening.

Just before 8pm, police received a call from a company that monitors built-in GPS real-time vehicle tracking systems that a stolen Cadillac was travelling on Perth Road 130 towards the Stonetown.

Perth County OPP officers deployed a spike belt at Line 14, and the Cadillac stopped safely within inches of the spike belt and police roadblock.

The driver, a lone seventeen year old male youth from Windsor, was arrested without incident.

The car had been stolen from an East Wilmot residence earlier in the evening.
