Perth County OPP patrolled the area of Queen Street East and John Street yesterday in St. Marys. Concerns had been raised about motorists not stopping for pedestrians at the cross walk. Two motorists were seen failing to stop for the activated crosswalk light while pedestrians waited to cross. The drivers were charged with failing to yield to pedestrians. The Perth County OPP will actively continue their enforcement effort at pedestrian crossings and in school zones. Motorists are reminded to slow down and take extra care while driving in these locations.
